Dr. Anurag Gupta is a neurosurgeon at Fortis Healthcare — a specialist who operates at the frontier of human precision. But his identity doesn't end in the operating theatre.
He is a certified IRONMAN, having conquered the full 140.6 IRONMAN in Hamburg and four 70.3 events across India, England, Bahrain and Italy. He has stood atop a 6,250-metre Himalayan glacier in Ladakh. And he runs races to save children's lives.
His philosophy is simple: discipline, adaptation, and never giving up — on the patient, on the course, or on the cause.
"Triathlons are a great mimicker of life. The discipline they teach is a great life lesson — you can't sustain it without the support of the people around you."— Dr. Anurag Gupta · IM Goa 70.3 Race Report
After a 5-day trek through the stunning Markha Valley, Dr. Gupta and his team of nine set out at 10pm from base camp. Crampons, ice axes, roped together on a permanent glacier — this was no afternoon hike. Nine hours later they stood atop 6,250 metres surrounded by a sea of snow-covered peaks.
