What is Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery?
Minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS) uses tiny keyhole incisions — typically 8mm to 2cm — and muscle-sparing tubular retractors to access the spine. Unlike traditional open surgery, no large muscles are cut, which dramatically reduces post-operative pain, blood loss, and recovery time.
Dr. Anurag Gupta employs real-time intraoperative navigation, high-definition microscopy, and fluoroscopy-guided implant placement to achieve the same — or better — surgical outcomes as open procedures, with a fraction of the trauma. Most patients walk the same day and go home within 24 hours.
As Associate Director & Unit Head of Neurosurgery at Max Hospital Saket, Dr. Gupta has performed over 1000 minimally invasive spine procedures and is one of the most experienced MISS surgeons in Delhi NCR.
